Pingup operates a service that enables users to make appointments for goods and services with local merchants (the “Merchants”) through an online or mobile publisher.  In most cases, user information will not be collected directly or indirectly by Pingup but will be collected by the online or mobile publisher and/or by the Merchant receiving the appointment. This Privacy Policy only applies to user information that Pingup actually collects, as described below. (“Pingup”, “we,” “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information we do collect from our users (“users,” “you” or “your”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, transfer and disclose personal information.  This Policy applies to the Pingup website at (the “Website” or the “Site”) and to the Pingup mobile application (“the App”). This Policy covers information we collect online, not offline.  The Site is owned and operated by Getabl, Inc., 11 Elkins St., Boston, MA 02127.

Any personally identifiable information collected by the Site shall be used only in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.  By registering for or accessing the Site, or the App, by requesting information by email, or by making an appointment through the Site or the App (together, the “Services”), you expressly agree to the use of your information for the purposes described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy or any changes to it, you should not use or access our Website or Services. 

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we change or update our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page and update the Privacy Policy modification date. We will also post a notice on our Blog.  Please check back regularly to review any changes to this Privacy Policy.

Personal Data 

Personally Identifiable Information (“Personal Information” or “Personal Data”) is information about you that you provide to us that is personally identifying, such as your name, email address, or telephone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available. The definition of Personal Data or Personally Identifiable Information depends on your physical location and may include other types of information, such as your IP address. Only the definition that applies to your physical location will apply to you under this Privacy Policy.

100% Opt-In

Providing Personal Data by accessing the Services is entirely voluntary and is by opt-in only.  You can opt-in by signing up for an appointment, by registering for our online or mobile appointment service, or by emailing us for information.  If you do not opt-in you will not have access to our Services or Site, and we will have no way of contacting you to respond to your inquiries or requests for information or appointments.  By opting in you are providing your express consent to the collection, use, retention, processing, transfer, and disclosure, including cross-border disclosure, of your Personal Data as explained in this Privacy Policy.

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

When you make an appointment through our Site, we collect information such as your first and last name, telephone number, email address, user name and password.  We collect this information so you we can provide you with access to our Services and to enable you to make an appointment with a Merchant.  If you email us with a question, we collect your first name and email address in order to respond to you.

Do We Use Cookies?

When you visit the Site or use the Services, we use session “cookies” — a piece of information stored on your computer — to allow us to uniquely identify your browser while you are logged in and to enable Pingup to provide the Services. We may link the information we store in cookies, such as your IP address, to the Personal Data you submit while on our Site. Session cookies also help us confirm your identity and are required in order to log into your account. Cookies may also enable us to identify your location and to serve you with information about Merchants near your location. 

Pingup uses persistent cookies that only Pingup can read and use, to identify you as a Pingup customer and make it easier for you to log into your account. Users who disable their web browsers’ ability to accept cookies will be able to browse our Site, but will not be able to access or take advantage of the Services.

Our partners use session ID cookies to trace user movement on the Site and to collect usage data for the Services.  The use of cookies by our partners is not covered by our Privacy Policy. We do not have access or control over cookies used by third parties.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

We will take reasonable precautions to protect Personal Data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.  We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.  No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We will retain Personal Data we process for as long as needed to provide the Services. We will retain and use this Personal Data as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Choice and Consent

By emailing us or by opting-in to use the Site or access the Services you expressly consent to the collection, use, retention, transfer and disclosure, including cross-border disclosure, of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.  Each time you email us, register with us or make an appointment with a Merchant through our Site or Services you are giving your express consent to the collection, use, retention, transfer and disclosure, including cross-border disclosure, of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

If you wish to opt out and withdraw your consent, you may do so at any time by emailing us at  If you opt out and withdraw your consent you will no longer be able to use our Services and we will not have any means by which to respond to your questions or comments that you email to the Site and you will not be able to make further appointments with Merchants through the Site.

You may unsubscribe from Pingup emails by clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the emails you receive from us. 

Do We Disclose Personal Data to Third Parties?

When you provide information to make an appointment with a Merchant, the information you provide will be disclosed to the Merchant.  The use of your information by the Merchant is covered by that individual Merchant’s privacy policy and not by our privacy policy.  We urge you to review each Merchant’s privacy policy before making an appointment through Pingup.

When you provide information to make an appointment, your information will also be disclosed to an online or mobile publisher in order to process the booking of your appointment,  We refer to the online or mobile publisher as our “partner.”  The use of your information by our partners is covered by each individual partner’s privacy policy and not by our privacy policy.  We urge you to review each partner’s privacy policy before making an appointment through Pingup.

We do not sell, share or disclose your Personal Data to third parties other than those parties necessary to enable us to provide the Services and process your appointment. By accessing our Site or the Services or by sending us email, you provide your express consent to our disclosure of your Personal Data to our Merchants and partners for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our Site policies, or protect our or other’s rights, property, or safety. Because our servers, which store your information, are located in the U.S.A., your information may be available to U.S. government entities or agencies under a lawful court order in the U.S.

In some cases, Pingup may disclose data in aggregate form to selected third parties.  The information we disclose in such cases will not include Personal Data.

Third Party Sites and Links; Merchant Sites, Partner Sites and Links

Our Site may contain links to other websites that are independent, are not owned or operated by us, are not covered by this Privacy Policy and which may incorporate Third Party Information. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies.  If you access other sites using the links provided, including Merchant sites and partner sites, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.  We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of other websites, including Merchant websites and partner websites, even if they are linked to our Site.

Social Media Features

Our Site includes features from social media websites such as a sign in to Pingup using a social networking account, a Facebook Like button, or features on LinkedIn and Twitter. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. This Privacy Policy does not apply to these features.  Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy and other policies of the companies providing them.

International or Cross-Border Transfer of Your Personal Data and Your Express Agreement

Given that the Internet operates in a global environment and that, if you operate outside of the United States, transfer of your data is necessary for you to use our Services or request information from us, using the Internet to collect and process Personal Data necessarily involves the transmission of data on an international, or cross-border, basis.  By making an appointment through the Site, registering for the Site or accessing the Services, and/or by communicating with us by email, you acknowledge and expressly consent to our processing and disclosure of your Personal Data in this way.

For users who are located outside the United States, Personal Data will be transferred outside of the customer’s country to the United States where our servers are located and where it will be processed and stored on services owned and operated by Amazon AWS, which participates in the EU-US Safe Harbor program.  You may view the Amazon AWS  privacy policy at  The U.S. does not provide an adequate level of protection according to EU data protection regulations, for the purpose of providing the Services.  We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Personal Data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy in respect of such transfer, but will not otherwise take steps to ensure compliance with applicable laws in each customer’s country of residence. By registering for the Site, by accessing the Services, by making an appointment, and/or by emailing us, you expressly agree to such transfer and disclosure.

California Do Not Track Disclosures

We currently do not honor Do Not Track signals. 

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), as we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age.  The Site and Services are directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Business Transfers

In the event of a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of Getabl’s assets, users’ information (including Personal Data) may be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge and consent that such transfers are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of ours or that acquirer’s assets may continue to receive, store, transfer and process your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Access to Your Information
