Like most of you, the way we communicate with the people in our lives has changed radically over the last few years. We now text where we used to have to call, so much so now that picking up the phone feels inefficient and painful. Yet, until recently, our communications with businesses still required finding a number, dealing with phone trees and being put on hold. We wondered, "wouldn't it be great if we could text a business like we do our friends?" Just like that, Pingup was born!

Mark Slater is a co-founder and the CEO of Pingup. When he's not spending his time chasing Stella and Sebastian around M-Street Park, you can usually find him watching Liverpool football club, or meeting with merchants and convincing them that they need to be ready to talk with customers the way customers want to talk with them. Mark was a founding member of Karmaloop, and worked for a time at CMGi. He left London (his home town) to go to BU and is a fully committed Old Malburian.
Bryan Lenett is a co-founder and President of Pingup. He is a technology enthusiast and lover of music, the arts (Lionel Richie), and sports. Bryan's current mission statement: "Every business should use Pingup to communicate directly with customers." Bryan was the founder of MediaPal (sold to Veridigm 2007), and Big Ads, an international advertising agency, and has dived into and been involved in various Internet startups and verticals. Originally from Miami, Florida, he's getting used to the Boston city life.
Milenko Beslic is Pingup's CTO. He's a Chief Technology Officer with a history of success in leading progressive Information Technology organizations in the development and delivery of innovative web products and solutions. Originally from Serbia, he now calls Boston home and fits right in here. He was a founding member of Cheapflights.com and co-founder of Cheaptoday.com, has teenage children who are ready to use Pingup and is the one who keeps everyone in the office grounded.
Bethe Palmer is Pingup's CFO. Bethe Joins us from Karmaloop where, as the CFO she guided the company from $15M in revenue to a run rate of over $200M. Bethe spent stints in similar roles both at Echonest, and at Zipcar. Bethe is a calming influence in the office. When not imposing command and control on Mark, Bryan,and Milenko, she's likely enjoying the relative serenity of her farm on the north shore. Bethe holds bachelors and masters degrees from bay state schools and is a CPA.
Karen Parker joined Pingup as COO in early 2013. Karen has spent her career delighting clients and operationalizing businesses. Most recently she helped Compete grow into a digital intelligence powerhouse but also scaled business as part of CMGi and PRTM and that's after starting her career as a rocket scientist. Karen holds bachelors and masters degrees from left coast schools and a MBA from a New England school.
Robert brings close to two decades of product experience as a developer, architect, designer, manager and evangelist in the telecommunications, mobile wireless and financial payments industries with a breadth of experience in domestic and international sales, business, and product development. He happily spends his time researching qualitative market trends, analyzing data and statistics, studying consumer usage and behavior, and building out strategic feature roadmaps for Pingup.
Dade Sokoloff joined the Pingup team in early 2012 as Marketing Director. A native of Miami, he's been happily calling New England home for 5 years. He brings with him a diverse marketing skill-set gained through years in everything from the print publishing industry to Internet start-up to the world of South Beach nightlife. He's drunk the Pingup Kool-Aid and firmly believes that we're on the precipice of a new era in consumer to business communication.
Elisabeth Gorra became Pingup's Community and Product Marketing Manager in late 2012, bringing with her a wide variety of experience in community and client services. As the team's resident social media ringmaster and "Minister of Brevity," she's in charge of making sure all information gets conveyed in as few words as possible - a task tackled regularly in an EDM or opera-fueled burst of energy. If Elisabeth's face looks familiar, it's probably because you have seen her at any number of networking events around Boston or running along the harbor.
Justin Taylor is Pingup's Director of Sales, which makes him the annoying guy who will call, email or just plain bust thru your door telling you to get involved with Pingup. Before Pingup he worked as National Sales Manager for a start up soccer shoe company and Sales Director for a Outdoor Magazine. He grew up on the south shore of Boston and spent his years after college running a ski shop, skiing and fishing the mountains and rivers of Montana before moving back to Boston to get a "real job".
James Young is our Creative Director at Pingup. He is a professional artist and designer who grew up on the South Shore of Boston and has lived in DC, California and Oregon as well. Prior to joining Pingup, James consulted on many software, website, enterprise web application, and mobile app projects. He's spent twenty plus years working in the technology sector. Past clients include Adobe, Cloudera, IHS Global Insight, InterSystems Corporation, Millennial Media, and PayPal. Prior to his time as a consultant, James held senior design positions at Frame Technology (acquired by Adobe), Monitor Group, and Extraprise.
Ben is the Sales & Customer Operations Supervisor at Pingup. Before coming to work at Pingup, he had experiences in marketing at Anheuser-Busch and saving our nation's youth in his role as a Therapeutic Mentor. A native of the Boston area, he currently resides in the bastion of college students and recent graduates known as Brighton. As a graduate of Colorado College, he enjoys skiing and various other outdoor activities. Ben can name all 50 state capitals.
Tom O'Keefe is the Brand Ambassador of Pingup. Better known as BostonTweet, Tom documents his daily intake of burritos, pizza and beer for thousands of Bostonians to see via his popular Twitter handle, @BostonTweet. With BostonTweet, Tom has helped major Internet companies, like Groupon and Where.com, create buzz and awareness in Boston. The odds are high that you'll be able to catch a sighting of Tom at Anna's Taqueria, the Publick House and/or Eastern Standard on any given day.
Sean is an inside sales specialists at Pingup. Aside from the four years he spent at college in the small town of Henniker, New Hampshire, Sean has spent his entire life in South Boston. He comes with a background in financial services and has also spent time working in the public sector for the City of Boston. When he first heard about Pingup, he knew it was a product with limitless potential and wanted to get involved immediately. The office being five minutes from his apartment was icing on the cake. The stars aligned when Sean joined the team in December, 2012. He hopes to play an integral part in Pingup's expansion and long term success.
Peter is an Inside Sales Specialist who joined Pingup in late 2012. He comes from a diverse background in customer service and sales. Most recently he was in that role for almost a decade with Lhasa OMS, the largest supplier of acupuncture supplies in the US. He is the quintessential sports Dad for his son (hockey goalie and soccer striker) and can be found and heard at many rinks and soccer fields throughout Eastern Mass. Peter is a lover of music (recently taught himself to play guitar), sports and Texas Holdem Poker. When Peter first heard of Pingup....he knew.
